During Joe's November 10th show in Fayetteville, NC, we were presented with the opportunity to increase the morale of troops overseas by participating in the American Red Cross's Holiday Mail for Heroes program.
Suffice to say, Joe jumped at the opportunity to brighten the days of our men and women in uniform!
Here is a bit of what SAF Coordinator of the American Red Cross, Graham Kelly had to say about the event:
"The Highlands office of the American Red Cross saw that Joe Bonamassa was coming to town and Graham, our coordinator for Services to the Armed Forces and a JB fan, contacted J&R to see if Joe would be willing to help the Holiday Mail for Heroes program. We had a fantastic response from Joe's team, which led to their donation of tickets to be raffled off for the show and the allowance of a slot at the concert to set up a table for signing the cards.
The night of the concert was fantastic! Joe was extremely personable and engaged all of the meet and greet fans and the Red Cross volunteer team. He wanted to know more about the program and signed not one, but three cards that will be sent to troops overseas. He also signed a donated acoustic guitar that was later auctioned off to help raise funds for the program.
The entire volunteer team was then invited to see Joe jam with one of his 10 year old fans on stage during sound check. The excited look on the child's face was priceless and a very heartwarming event to witness. The night was a complete success, with hundreds of cards signed by Joe's fans. Joe's personal contribution to the Holiday Mail for Heroes in support of our troops and veterans was truly appreciated.”
