Photo Of The Week: Hendrix At Summer Of Love In San Francisco

This week’s Blues Photo Of The Week is one of many shots Jim Marshall took at the 1967 Summer of Love Concert. Jimi Hendrix was one of the many performers in attendance performing for free at the Panhandle, San Francisco.

With over 500 album covers and thousands of photos of GRAMMY Award winners of the 20th century, to his credit, Jim Marshall has been a dominant force in bringing popular music to the masses.  Jim said it simply, “It’s never just been a job it’s been my LIFE.”

Over 100,000 hippies descended on San Francisco in 1967 for this iconic concert. Jim Marshall captured it all. It was one the many iconic performances in music history!
