ZZ Top, Perry Farrell and Alice Cooper were among the legends that took to the stage to support the VH-1 Save the Music event at the site of the former CBGB’s. The invite-only crowd was also treated to an explosive performance from Black Country Communion, guitar master Joe Bonamassa’s new band featuring former Deep Purple frontman Glenn Hughes, Led Zeppelin’s Jason Bonham and Alice Cooper/Billy Idol keyboardist Derek Sherinian.
BCC played “One Last Soul,” “Black Country” and “The Great Divide” from their upcoming album. The band’s heavy rock and vintage sound electrified the (mostly) younger, uber-fashionable crowd and celebrities, including Jeremy Piven, Jimmy Kimmel, Rachel Ray, Chris Brown and Matt Pinfield.
Black Country Communion’s self-titled debut album drops on Sept 21.
