Escape Your Woes With Feel Good Music!

Whenever I need to decompress from what the world is throwing at me, my “go-to” is music. Sometimes, I throw on some vinyl or Cd’s and sometimes it’s just a playlist off a streaming site.  But when I do this, it takes me away from the chaos of the world and starts healing my soul.  Here are some feel good song suggestions that I want to recommend but it’s up to you to create your own list!  While I love all styles of music, my choices may not be everyone’s cup of tea.  So, make some of your own suggestions to add to the list because we all could use some musical healing in our lives! Enjoy!

Queen – Don’t Stop Me Now

Besides, giving you a possible speeding ticket if you’re driving while listening to it, the energy of the song just hypes you up and makes you want to take on the world and make it a better place!

Nina Simone – Feeling Good

The ultimate motivational song that not only inspires but has some serious swagger behind it to make you get up and take charge! Yes, its that fierce! It takes you to a different place and time. No auto tune, just a natural voice.  There are a lot of wonderful covers of this track but I’m going to stick with Nina for my choice.

Joe Cocker – With A Little Help from My Friends

Originally done by the Beatles, but for me, Joe Cocker’s version just makes it more personal, truthful and the way he performed it, he felt it with every ounce of his soul.

Curtis Mayfield – Move on up (live)

From the man that also brought us the song “Pusherman,” and “People Get Ready” This track has the best inspirational lyrics and positive message.  It’s a timeless track that will always resonate for generations to come. It’s a long video but it highlights the energy and over the top musicians performing.

The Beatles – Let It Be

This song goes directly from them into your soul and becomes a part of you and fills you with hope.

Al Green – Love and Happiness

Have a broken heart? Al is the perfect elixir for your pain! He won’t fix it but at least he’ll lighten the pain. Al’s voice is amazing, and the musicians are on point. So, go ahead with your bad self and preach Al, take us all to church!

Other honorable mentions:

Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds”, ELO’s “Mr Blue Sky”, Bill Wither’s “Lovely Day,” Lyle Lovett’s “If I Had A Boat”, John Hiatt’s “Have A Little Faith in Me”, Monty Python Life of Brian “Always Look on The Bright Side of Life”, Van Halen’s “Dreams,” Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing’’ The Bellamy Bothers “Let Your Love Flow.”
