During his stay in Rome for the European leg of the tour, Joe got invited to the offices of Music Corner at number one Italian news media, Repubblica. There he met with the Italian actor, screenwriter and film director Carlo Verdone, that enacted the role of Romano on the movie "The Great Beauty", winner of the Oscar for Best Foreign Film Award of 2014.

To everyone's delight, Joe and Carlo got to jam together, the first on guitar (of course!) and the second on drums.

When asked by host Ernesto Assante how it is to play along Joe Bonamassa, Carlo Verdone said "it's exciting. I consider him one of the greatest contemporary guitarists because he carries on the taste of Jeff Beck. He is based on tradition but has an unmistakable style, a style that's all of his own. He makes me go back to the times of the great guitars: Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, the greats."
