Ruthie Foster is an American singer-songwriter of blues, folk, and gospel music. She was born on February 10, 1964, in Gause, Texas, and grew up in a family of gospel singers. Foster began her music career in the 1990s and has since released several albums that have been critically acclaimed for their soulful, powerful vocals and honest, personal lyrics.
