Joe Bonamassa: Blues of Desperation

(Provogue) Rel: 25 March

38-year-old arena filling US blues star Joe Bonamassa drops his 12th studio album in just 16-years.

Joe has released two collaboration albums with Beth Hart (the 3rd soon) and Mahalia Barnes, eleven live albums, nine video albums, and his Rock Candy Funk Party stuff. He loves to work!

His producer for a decade, Kevin Shirley, took Joe out of his comfort zone here, resulting in vocal (some VERY soulful indeed) and guitar performances that truly smoke.

These 11 original songs, probably the best of his career thus far. A refreshing approach to the guitar; far less notes played than usual, not awash with solos galore either. Most of what he does play is a bit good: understatement of the year!

You do not need to love the blues to dig this. Maybe this is where the Grammy-nominated blues man can change his bio to; Grammy winning.
