Joe Bonamassa has said repeatedly on the British Blues Explosion tour that had it not been for Clapton, Beck and Page, Joe would probably have been a house painter. That being the case, thank God for Clapton, Beck and Page.

Joe Bonamassa swept into Red Rocks like a Boulder, Colorado blizzard and delighted, enchanted, and captivated the audience from the moment he entered the stage to the last hanging note of the night.

Joe has been very open in heaping much praise on a band that Joe often calls the best in the world, and the band’s performance was impeccable. Joe as the star of the show, however, unleashed guitar magic upon a crowd that was hungry for the British Blues, whipping them into a frenzy of energy as he blazed through the songs of those British greats and the solos that have brought Joe worldwide acclaim and renown.

Joe opened the show with the mojo-filled “Beck’s Bolero / Rice Pudding”, a classic early Jeff Beck staple that Joe thoroughly owned at the famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Smoke seemed to rise from his guitar as he burned through the solo, paying homage to a guitar hero, along with Clapton and Page, that Joe has worshipped since his youth. But that little boy who grew up rocking out to those British Blues giants has come a long way himself, playing what was easily one of, if not the biggest U.S. blues concerts of the year.

Muddy Wolf at Red Rocks was a special show at an iconic American venue, and it was magical to see Joe play the music of those two immortals of classic electric Chicago blues. But it was so evident in Joe’s unbridled passion and enthusiasm that the music of Clapton, Beck, and Page is even more extra special to him. Joe slayed song after song like a Roman soldier cutting down the invading barbarian hoards and it was a beautiful spectacle to behold.

Joe’s British Blues concert at Red Rocks was truly a classic show to remember. And as if that wasn’t great enough, Joe announced that he will be returning to Red Rocks on August 23rd, 2017 to play classics from the Joe Bonamassa song catalog.

Joe Bonamassa as a house painter? House painter, indeed! Joe was born to do one thing:

Create the guitar experience of a lifetime for each and every fan.
