The four music icons that form Black Country Communion, prove that pure rock and roll is alive and thriving in the 21st century. After a hiatus to focus on busy and fruitful solo careers, BCC is back with highly anticipated new material and live performances.
There are two scheduled concerts in addition to Joe Bonamassa’s Keeping the Blues Alive At Sea Blues Cruise appearance set for early 2018 and these are the only scheduled live performances from BCC planned. Bands of this caliber are rare, so do not miss an opportunity to see them live and in action!
The shows are set for January 2 at the Hammersmith Apollo and January 4 at Wolverhampton in England. The latter location is significant because it represents a return to the roots of their namesake, the Black Country region of England.
The Black Country is in reference to the West Midlands area of England, including Wolverhampton that became some of the most industrialized areas in Britain during the Industrial Revolution. In fact, the name Black Country is in reference to the immense amount of coal soot that blanketed the region. These events are special also because both Glenn Hughes and drummer Jason Bonham grew up in areas in and around the Black Country. In fact, Bonham’s hometown of Dudley is considered the capital of the Black Country and a birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. This band is important to the British community because it is reminiscent of their deep classic rock roots.
BCC is: Glenn Hughes (Bass and Vocals), Joe Bonamassa (Guitar and Vocals), Jason Bonham (Drums), and Derek Sherinian (Keyboards)
