Joe Bonamassa conquers Europe (Or Bonamassa’s Conquest of Europe)

7 Countries/7songs

Joe Bonamassa is perhaps the busiest person in the music business. Bonamassa is an unstoppable force, coming out with an album almost every year, collaborating with other artists, and touring non-stop throughout the US and Europe. Including various music festivals like Crossroads Music Festival, Joe averages over 100 shows each year! He has been performing since he was just twelve years old, and he doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.

Currently, Joe Bonamassa is rockin’ Europe on his 2017 tour which began in Edinburgh, Scotland on April 18th at Usher Hall. Along with his fantastic band: Michael Rhodes (Bass), Reese Wynans (Keys), and Anton Fig (Drums), Joe stuns a “studious audience that had very little movement, no shouting, just full-on admiration.” And this was just the first stop! Joe is no stranger to the highly acclaimed Royal Albert Concert Hall. In fact, including this tour, he has been invited three times and recorded his 2009 live performance there. Joe graced the hall once again, putting on two back to back shows on April 20th and 21st. Joe was warmly welcomed by the audience and as one reviewer pointed out “there probably isn’t any other guitarist in the world who has the chops and skills that JB does, but you never get the feeling he is showing off.”

Joe continued his conquest with a show on April 28th in Antwerp, Belgium at the Lotto Arena. Joe has also played this venue a few times before, including his 2013 tour with Beth Hart. Once again, Joe played in the sold-out arena, and fans were on their feet the entire two and half hour set. Since the man rarely sleeps, Joe was on to Amsterdam to the play the very modern Ziggo Dome the next night. The fans love him over there, even dubbing this show “The guitar event of the year!” Another jaw-dropping performance took place on May 2nd in the eastern France city of Dijon at Zenith de Dijon, an indoor venue that has various locations throughout France.

Joe marched on to the France’s beautiful capital city of Paris. On May, 4th Joe rocked the Palais De Congres for thousands of adoring fans. As you can probably tell, Joe Bonamassa has played not only played most of these cities multiple times, but a few venues have invited him back more than once! Not many musicians get this special privilege. Joe visited Stuttgart, Germany next to melt the minds, once again, of the Porsche-Arena. Joe fans over in Europe cannot get enough of his powerhouse singing and unbelievable guitar playing.

Joe continues to dominate venues all over Europe, ending on May 20th in Munchen, Germany. Although this tour would exhaust even the toughest person, Joe won’t stop there. He will begin his 2017 U.S. Summer tour on August 4th in Atlantic City NJ. Like I said, Joe Bonamassa is the hardest working man in music.
