From a young age, Joe Bonamassa was infatuated with the playing of Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, and Jeff Beck. In 2016, Joe saluted his three British blues guitar heroes with the British Blues Explosion live event. This is an all-out sensational performance featuring a collection of some of the greatest songs by the British Blues trifecta, Clapton, Beck, and Page. The following are candid shots from throughout Joe’s day, capturing the British Blues Explosion. Critics are already raving about the latest Bonamassa release, with Sonic Abuse stating, “British Blues Explosion’ is essential for anyone who considers themselves a fan of the blues…Its beautifully played and is a generous tribute to three master guitarists.”
The show took place on July 7, 2016 at the Greenwich Music Time located in the Old Royal Navel College in Greenwich, London. The historic buildings were originally constructed as the Royal Hospital for Seamen, designed by Christopher Wren and built from 1696-1712. The site is now used for television and film shooting and production, a museum, and for various live shows. The venue is a large outdoor stage that has a breath-taking view of the Royal College and overlooks the River Thames.
