Rocket Man says Farewell to the Yellow Brick Road…

Sir Elton John has finally decided that it was time to say farewell to a career that has spanned more than half a century of touring filled with other exceptional moments that has seen him claim his place as a true global icon. He just finished off his Vegas residency and is ready to tackle the rest of the world with his “Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.” The kick off show, which just happened last week will consist of more than 300 shows across five continents, hitting North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, South America and Australasia before reaching its conclusion in 2021. He plans to retire after this tour. As Elton put it, “It’s time to come off the road so I can fully embrace the next important chapter of my life.”

The new stage production will take his fans on a highly visual musical journey spanning a 50-year career of hits like no one has ever seen before. Elton John has always defied categorization, unlike some bands that stay true to one style of music, Elton has embraced everything from rock, pop, blues, gospel, R&B, boogie-woogie and country folk. A true musical chameleon. We also like to think that Bernie Taupin, his longtime lyricist had something to do with this as well.

If you have ever experienced an Elton John show, most of us know that it’s usually an over the top soiree that leaves you wanting more. This creative artist has his own unique inimitable style of performing that has always been innovative and bold. With this tour, same thing, at twenty-four songs and nearly three hours in length, the set list is long and extensive, but filled with the best of his career defining tracks to date. Expect to see a lot of glitz and glamour on this farewell tour.
