Van Morrison’s music is like a close friend, someone who gets you through the tough times, inspires you to celebrate the good times or takes you on a mystical journey. At times, his music can even transcend you into a wonderful state of happy without realizing it. One should never try to define what category he falls into because just like the rest of the music rebels in the world, we all go out of bounds at some time in our lives. And so, does Van Morrison. Whether it’s soul, jazz, blues or Celtic folk, this soulful singer can belt out a song that reaches the eaves of an auditorium and then bring us back down to earth with just a soft whisper. Whether it’s a small trio or a full band, you can’t go wrong going to a Van Morrison concert, just be prepared to be dancing like a crazy fool by the end of it.

This legendary performer has given us great hits like “Moondance”, "Brown Eyed Girl”, “Crazy Love” and "Domino,” and he is now back with his 40th studio album titled, “The Prophet Speaks” set for release on December 7th. Morrison, decided to go back to his musical roots with this album which features a mix of classics written by John Lee Hooker, Sam Cooke and others along with six new originals by Morrison. He also teamed up with organist and trumpeter Joey DeFrancesco, whom he collaborated with on “You’re Driving Me Crazy” which was released last April. Morrison said in a statement, “It was important for me to get back to recording new music as well as doing some of the blues material that has inspired me from the beginning. Writing songs and making music is what I do and working with great musicians makes it all the more enjoyable,”

For those of you in the U.S. who missed seeing Van Morrison live in concert earlier in the year, you can still get a chance to see him live on his last stop in the U.S. in 2018 at a two-night stand between Nov. 14 – Nov. 15 in Oakland, CA, at the Fox Theatre. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait till 2019 when he returns to the U.S. for a winter residency in Sin City, which will take place between Jan. 25 through Feb. 3 in Las Vegas at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. In the meantime, he will be doing an extensive tour of the U.K. and Ireland with a big three-night hometown gig between Oct. 2 - Oct. 4 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, at Europa Hotel. So be sure to catch him live in concert when you can! In the meantime, enjoy some Van Morrison in the comfort of your home.
