The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honored Chuck Berry, then 86 years young, with tribute performances featuring Joe, Ernie Isley and Darryl DMC McDaniels, Rick Derringer, Rosie Flores, John Fullbright, David Johansen, Ronnie Hawkins, Steve Jordan and Merle Haggard. Plus, Joe plays a set on the David Letterman show promoting his tenth studio album Driving Towards the Daylight.
Newly formed soulful duo Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa announce their first tour in Europe to promote their first album Seesaw together. Joe also releases his first acoustic album An Acoustic Evening at the Vienna Opera House this year as well.
Beth and Joe's album Seesaw gets nominated for Best Blues Album at the 56th Grammy Awards, which marks Joe's first Grammy nomination. Also, in honor of musical influences Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf, Joe pays tribute to them with a show at historic Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Lastly, Joe releases his quadruple "Tour De Force: Live in London" album set.
Joe's nonprofit Keeping the Blues Alive and sea-festival experts Sixthman came together to bring the best in blues aboard the first ever Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea cruise, featuring acts like John Hiatt, Robben Ford, and Robert Randolph and the Family Band. Plus, Joe gets invited to perform on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon to promote his upcoming live album Live from Radio City Music Hall.
In this jam-packed year of releases, tours and celebrity interactions, the highlights include appearing on Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx's radio show Sixx Sense, surprising a young Xander Marsden on Nickelodeon's "All in With Cam Newton" with guitar jam sessions and lessons, and even appearing on Jimmy Kimmel's late night show Jimmy Kimmel live to promote his 12th studio album Blues of Desperation.

The return of Joe's side projects like BCC and Rock Candy Funk Party also make a comeback with announcements, in addition to Joe himself releasing his highly anticipated acoustic album Live at Carnegie Hall.
It was the year of Redemption as Joe released his 21st #1 Billboard Blues Album to high praise, in addition to his other highly anticipated live album from his tribute tour to his British blues heroes Clapton, Beck and Page, British Blues Explosion Live. Plus, Joe got to perform with other guitar legends for ZZ Top's Billy Gibbon's Guitar Legends Show II for charity, along with another charity jam with Warren Haynes at the annual Christmas Jam in Asheville, North Carolina.
Rounding out the decade in typical Joe fashion, Joe ventures in all corners of the world from Israel to Australia to sailing the seas of the Mediterranean for the first annual Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea: Mediterranean! He closes out the year with a few performances at Alice Cooper's Christmas Pudding charity show.
