Episode 1: 1960 Gibson ES-335 in Cherry Red

After a week (ish) away from social media I have decided to start a daily series during the quarantine called “The Mystery of the Nerdville Vaults.” I remember spending 3 hours watching Geraldo Rivera in the 80s search in vain for Al Capone’s lost treasures. Unlike that broadcast and attempt, my vault does not require a Bobcat earth moving device to access it. So here we see a Gibson 1960 ES-335 with a factory bigsby in cherry red that I purchased about 10 years ago. Enjoy and please be safe and stay well...

Episode 2: 1957 Blonde Fender Stratocaster “Yvonne”

This guitar I bought 9 years ago from the original owners family in Baltimore, Maryland. This 1957 Blonde Fender Stratocaster sat above the family’s fire place in a lucite case for years before they decided to sell it. It’s name is “Yvonne” after the original owners wife who sold it to me along with an equally clean matching 1957 Fender Bandmaster amp. ( take my word for it as I am too lazy to get it out of the museum.) An estate attorney handled the transaction so my receipt reads like a Harvard Law dissertation on how to make something simple , very pedantic and difficult. Enjoy... Stay Safe and healthy. Greetings from a quarantined Nerdville, California.

Episode 3: 1959 Gibson ES-345TDN

This 1959 Gibson ES-345TDN was purchased from my friend Eliot from Rumble Seat Music in 2011. He bought it from the original owner in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It has all the tags including the one that says “Stereo Wired”. The last time I plugged this guitar in I received one of the worst electric shocks of my life. I decided to use the stereo function and wired up two Fender deluxe reverbs. I wanted to experience my overplaying in stereo rather than the normal monophonic overplaying. I was sitting on one of them then hit the standby switch on the other. This I know was an amateur move on my part and was neither the guitars or the amps fault. I believe that experience has contributed to my personality and general overall demeanor which some describe as eclectic. Stay safe and healthy. Enjoy.. Greeting from a quarantined Nerdville. PS... This one came free with double white coil PAF pickups.

Episode 4: 1964 Fender Jazz Bass in Sonic Blue

Secrets revealed in episode 4! Here is a 1964 Fender Jazz Bass in Sonic Blue. I bought this 5 years ago from my friend Clyde at Timeless Guitars in Cleveland, Ohio. He purchased it from the original owner who played in a regional Ohio soul band in the 60s and 70s. I am a horrible bass player.. I use a pick, distortion and tend to overplay a lot. Just like my guitar playing. Enjoy and stay healthy.
