What is it about Huntsville, Alabama that makes things to go awry at times? Well, it's known as “Rocket City” due to it being the home to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, and the Army’s Aviation and Missile Command. So, yeah there’s a lot of space talk around the town. On April 3, 2021, there were sonic booms and explosions happening on stage after Joe Bonamassa and his power trio rolled into town. Performing at the Von Braun Center Concert Hall, those that attended the socially-distanced concert also got a big surprise! Not only Joe and his power trio blowing their minds that night but also Eric Gales aka “Raw Dawg” joining him on stage for an epic guitar battle between the two. If you missed the show, check out Joe and Eric performing Clapton’s “Crossroads” live!
Joe and Eric first performed together on the 2019 Keeping The Blues Alive: Mediterranean Cruise by doing a guitar battle during "The Ballad of John Henry," where they wowed fans. Now, they’re heading into the studio to work on Eric’s new album. Not only will Joe be producing this project, but he has been writing songs with Eric, Josh Smith and Keb’ Mo’ for the album as well.
