"A Rhythmical Powerhouse"


Joe Bonamassa set out to do something crucial on his 12th solo studio record Blues of Desperation. That was to make sure he wasn't simply repeating himself and playing by the same book. He began to take a turn towards a new direction with his last studio record Different Shades of Blue which was composed of all-original material save for a brief but magnificent Jimi Hendrix instrumental album opener. No, Joe wasn't going country or hip-hop, but he was exploring the vast horizons of blues-rock, to see where it could take him that it hasn't taken him before.
