How about the Black Country Communion? I noticed that you have already booked one show for the following year. So, is the actual Black Country Communion tour finally going to happen?

Joe and I have spoken about shows, but– I may have spoken to you about this years ago. Are we going to do it? Yeah. Well, it never happened. I don’t want to look foolish. So I say, we all want to play shows, but it’s a matter of whether can we all agree to that. Joe and I want to do that. So I think the album’s very strong. The new one is going to be a strong album. I think it deserves more shows. I think the cruise will be great on the boat. Fantastic. But my own career, I see myself doing a lot of shows next year, but I would love to do a selection of shows in Europe and North America, and maybe South America; you never know. But it will be great to play again with Joe, Jason, and Derek. It’d be great.

You mentioned earlier that the new Black Country Communion album is already done.

Well, the music. I’m going to sing it next week.

Is the new album going to be like the continuation of the past albums or something completely new?

It’s a continuation. What we didn’t want to do, we didn’t want to take the band too far away from the original. It would be silly to do that. There’s always a progression in identity as far as growing as musicians and singers. We’re all evolving. We can’t always stay the same. But it won’t be too far away from the first four albums.

Out of all four albums you’ve done with Black Country Communion, which one is your favorite?

My God, they’re all my children, really. The first one was classic. The second was a great one. Then, ”Afterglow,” I love that album. [laughter] And the last one, wow. They’ve all got a special– I think everyone has their own favorites, the fans, and the band. I think Joe loves number two. I like them all.
