That’s why I love guitars and amps is because they function. I play them live and in the studio. I love the fact that something that’s that old, almost three quarters of a century, some of these things are still cool and relevant today.
And it brings us back to a point when in America – like when I look at a Les Paul Standard from 1959 or 1960 or a Fender Stratocaster from 1954 – I go ‘wow, every single part of this from the screws to the capacitors that wire this thing…everything was made here!’
It’s like primitive social media. Ever since I’ve been able to save up $200 or more, I’ve spent it all on guitars.”
