When I got this truck 3 years ago it was a stock 1 When I got this truck 3 years ago it was a stock 1956 Chevy 3100. My friend @shanehenrymusic found it in a barn in Oklahoma. It did not go particularly fast and if you did manage to get it past 40 clicks it did not stop particularly well. ( controlled crash or stall ) The steering was a suggestion as opposed to a basic left or right and fuel cell was located behind the driver and passenger thus consistently filling the cabin with the rich smell of unleaded gasoline and exhaust. Oh and the doors did not particularly open nor close very well. This gave me great solace and comfort knowing that one day I might be forced to exit the vehicle through the side window. It had a three on the tree transmission that would grind through gears and always would get stuck in 3rd. The 35 horsepower straight 6 engine loved when I would have to pop the clutch in third just to avoid causing gridlock. Perfect for downtown Nashville. The bachelorettes loved me but the citizens would flinch in horror. Oh and the ride.. it now has a new frame and suspension. The original felt as if every pot hole was a gigantic crater shaking the vehicle to is core along with testing the structural integrity of both said vehicle and its human passengers. Finally I said.. "This old car thing is supposed to be fun." Alas.. Thanks to the fine team @triworkshotrods in Nashville "Rutledge the Salt Shaker" is now a wonderful automobile capable of providing transportation , speeding tickets (427 big block) and life preservation ( seat belts and brakes!). Great job guys! It was worth the wait. 😎👍
